Here on Saipan their is only one active Motorcycle group, the Matua Riding Group. The group is actually just a bunch of guy’s and girls just like yourself that enjoy riding their bikes together and sharing the same interests rather it be just riding, special riding clothing, repairing and or accessory’s for their rides, it’s always fun to hang out with others that have your same interest because for one there’s always something to talk about and more then that there’s always a new adventure just down the road which you all can share with each other or with your children and other friends.  You get to meet many different types of people in these groups and when you ride in a group you often get to meet many other people that are interested in either your ride or the interestingly looking individuals that ride those bikes which often makes for lots of laughter and fun, especially when you’re trying to get your points across many different language barriers. The Island of Saipan is that type of place where we have many different types of cultures which intermix here, many are from Asia, Australia, Philippines, and many more places from all over the globe. And rather they already live here or there just visiting from other countries to enjoy our paradise atmosphere with white sandy beaches and multi colored blue waters or just to feel the relaxed non pressure of the places they may come from, Saipan is a melting pot for all to enjoy, feel safe, and learn about different cultures with each other.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We currently get a huge amount of our tourist industry flying in from Mainland China as there is a visa waiver currently for the island of Saipan and our china neighbors are flying in by the hundreds a day to take a break with their families and just enjoy the islands pristine atmosphere and of course do a little shopping.  The Matua riding Group usually gets two main responses from our tourist when they first see the group going by. The Motorcycles are loud and make quite a ruckus and almost all the tourists will stop and look in a startled pose when these bikes go rumbling by but the most fun t time with our tourist guests are when we are parked at the various tourist spots throughout the island. This is when we actually get to see their face’s light up in amazement of the rides and their riders and it’s not just the tourist that light up, you can see smiles and laughing from within the group members the moment the tourist start taking pictures and then that’s when all the real fun starts.  Our group members and the tourists start communicating and even joking with each other, they get pictures of the tourists next to the bikes as well as on the bikes and even sometimes in funny positions with everyone together trying to make the best memories of the day. It is a heartfelt time for both the members and the tourists alike often in which they leave the encounter with much to tell their friends and families. What marvels me the most is at one spot more than any other which is called Grotto (A cave which has an underwater outlet to the sea), many of our tourist will go down scuba diving, now the steps are easy when you are on your way down but I will tell you, to watch them come back up with the additional 60lbs of weight of the scuba gear on their backs is hard for me to even take but as they reach the top step and they see all the bikes lined up, you see that  pain and agony of all their hard work just wash away and the smiles and brightness of their faces just tell you that what they see is just awesome to them. And for most they have never seen a big V - twin engine Harley Davidson or similar motorcycles up close and personal before, only in magazines or on the TV, so when they see these bikes up close and personal it’s just amazing to see them light up with amazement and excitement.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 If you have the opportunity to join a riding group where you live I would highly recommend it as it is a great feeling to go around with these groups and can often be quite rewarding as most groups do a lot for their community and often bring smiles to total strangers faces where ever they go.
